NexQL - Database Technology for Large Data Sets

NexQL™ is proud to introduce Quasar- our hardware accelerated database solution.

Quasar is an acronym for Query Acceleration System Architecture. Quasar is an enterprise level solution for real-time indexing of very large databases providing a high level of redundancy, serviceability, accessibility and most importantly, operates transparently to the current application and database architecture.

How Quasar Works

Quasar is non-intrusive solution that integrates seamlessly with existing database systems by acting as the database index. Quasar stores selected indexes from the entire attached database serving under the Quasar index acceleration solution. This enables timely access to information from a very large database system without the inherent delay of traditional indexing solutions.

The first graph shows a high-end database system performance model. As the size and scale of the database grows (as illustrated by the blue line), the need for the timely delivery of information increases. Information that once took a fraction of a second to recall, now takes minutes and in some cases – hours. This is represented as the “Unacceptable Performance Limitation” in the picture.

The second image is the same very large database model from above with the Quasar solution added to the system. As demonstrated above, the performance metrics remain constant to meet the ever-changing needs of a very large database system. With Quasar, what used to take minutes or hours to processes and retrieve, now takes fractions of a second, and Quasar will support the continued scaling requirements without performance degradation.
